WWF Super Wrestlemania: The quietest button mashing wrestling match ever. – RebelSlug
Overview:
WWF Super Wrestlemania is a game I have a lot of reverence for. It introduced me to a lot of what I associated with wrestling when I was a kid and what I thought a good wrestling game was to be. It’s basically a 2D side scrolling button mashing game where you select your fighter and battle the other in a fight to the end. Whoever’s health gets to zero is the loser and gets pinned with no hope of recovering. What you don’t get is any differentiation between the characters as they all do the same moves and neither of them have special moves, which sucks. There isn’t a story mode or really anything to progress through, so you’ll just have to be happy with fighting the computer or with some friends mindlessly. That’s it.

Visuals:
I like the look of the game. I think the characters all look like who they’re supposed to with some of them having the extra visual girth. Other than the looks, everything else is static. The arenas are all the same and nothing changes. I forgot you also have the ref but he just kind of moves around. As I said, I like the look of it but I don’t think the visuals are something to be proud of.

Audio:
God, does this game sound awful. There is no music in the game other than the opening, so the matches are just quiet. You’ll hear the wrestlers grunting when getting hit but that’s about the extent of it. The punches and kicks sound atrocious and lack any depth. At the end of the match you do get the winning wrestler’s theme and even that sounds terrible. This game could have really used some sort of music but, alas, you get nothing.

Completion:
I FINISHED THIS GAME! I think. I did the Survivor Series and my team consisting of Macho Man Randy Savage…and some others…won. I didn’t tag out and just defeated the opposing 4-person team with just him. I also did a one-on-one match and won with minimum effort. After that, there really isn’t anything to do. This is just strictly a multiplayer game.
